Season 3 not on sci-fi
Season 2 wasn't on Sci-fi was it? I certainly watched on BBC2. And just for clarity - it starts on 1st October.
Episode 1 on BBC2 at 9pm and Episode 2 on BBC3 at 10pm.
I "heard" that the season 3 openers are a tad Meh!!!
Too many coincidences in the plot and too many characters who have obviously been hit too many times with a stupid stick. (Peter i'm looking at you...what a Muppet)
I'm kind of going off this show.
My source enjoyed the first 2 eps, though agrees about the stupidity of some of the characters - esp. Claire (let's hide in the cupboard), Peter (think before you [time] leap/don't trust strangers), Mohinder (have you never watched "The Fly"?) and Hiro (just freeze the bint!).
What happened to the (admittedly annoying) kid and his cousin(?)?.
Still, things are looking up with the new crop of bad guys.
Mme LeMarchand has pointed out that blonde girls are much more likely to survive and be "heroic" than darker-haired (and skinned) ladies. Looks like Maya may be in for a shock...
I enjoyed last night's ep. It was nice to have the show back. But I don't think they can keep it up for much longer. At first there seemed to be some sort of over-arching goal to the whole thing, I got the impression that it might actually be leading somewhere. But now I think maybe they're just making it up as they go along.
Peter is an idiot, but then so's Claire for trying to shoot him and hiding in the wardrobe. That was just plain stupid. But the fact that she can't ever die is interesting. Can any of them die really? Nathan survived being shot. Sylar's survived everything. I'm pretty sure Peter can't die. And Malcolm MacD turned up at the end. Although I have to admit I don't really know what was going here because the bf came home, stood in front of the TV and talked at me.

:o
A quick kick in the 'nads would have sorted that problem out (as long as you weren't planning on any nookie later).
He'd had too much coffee so he was a bit over-wrought.

Wimp! (Or do you mean he'd had too much "coffee"?)
No, just the ground up beans. Bless! He didn't actually realise I was watching Heroes. When he did he moved. But by then I'd lost the thread. I'm easily distracted
I'm trying to be a bit vague here, as I'm not sure where folks are with the show - advance apologies if there are any inadvertent spoilers.
I'm thinking that the show is suffering from 1) too much time travel 2) too many characters that should be dead returning/an over-reliance on the "reset" button and 3) characters changing too quickly.
"Dark Hiro" in S1 was genius, "Lost in the past" Hiro in S2 was a bit pointless, but "Dark Peter" in S3 is just a retread of "Dark Hiro", though to compound the problem they have made "present Peter" into "Dark Peter". I did like the glimpse of future Sylar/Gabriel, though I was confused by who the kid's mother was.
Nikki/Jessica becoming Tracey was just lazy. As lovely as Ali Larter is, the show suffers from having her back in - it seems as if no-one can die (properly). Not to mention Malcolm McD and the multiple reappearances in the last ep. Mr Bennett has gone back to being the company man with little justification too.
Which ties in to such problems as the Hispanic lady going from frightened girl to sexy slut in a few days, along with Sylar's (probably fake) new leaf, Mohinder's change etc etc - if these things had happened gradually they would be acceptable, but they just seem to happen.
That said, the latest ep shows signs of a return to form - but pull your socks up, guys!
I get the impression they are making it up as they go along.
You are right there are too many returning characters, nobody really dies (do they all have Claire's power)
They do explaing the Malcom McD bit pretty well in episode 5, but then compound the original problem with a "surprise" character making an appearance.
Season 1 was good and felt like it was going somewhere. Now it just feels disjointed and a mess of tangeld plot lines and characters acting out of behaviour all over the place. The time travel and many alternate futures that we have now seen (New York Nuc bomb, Virus destroyed future, virus makes everyone super future) are not helping clarify where the story is ultimatly going.
To be honest, I haven't watched it for two weeks because I forgot it was on, which is never a good sign. And I can't say that I've really missed it. It really doesn't seem to be going anywhere and it would seem the producers/writers haven't got the bottle to let anyone stay dead. I think really they should have just left it at one season. Made the final ep really spectacular, killed of Sylar and everyone lives happily ever after.
Well, recent eps have seen some improvement. I still think that, as they haven't had the bottle to make permanent changes in the past, the show lacks the tension of S1.
Anyway: did anyone think Jon Glover looked like he'd make a good Lucien the Librarian in Sandman after seeing him in "Heroes"?
Lional Luthor John Glover? If I'd known he was going to be in it I'd have carried on watching! One of my fave TV actors.

He's only been in one ep so far (possibly the one on BBC this week), but I have a feeling he'll be back.
Here he is looking (I think) Lucien like.
