Characters

  • Emmy(R) Award-winning actress Sarah Michelle Gellar is a veteran of television, theatre and the big screen, having worked for nearly 19 of her 24 years. She is best known for playing the title role in the hit series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, for which she received a Golden Globe(R) nomination in 2001.

In 1997, Gellar starred in I Know What You Did Last Summer and Scream 2. She won a 1998 Blockbuster Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in I Know What You Did Last Summer and was nominated for a 1998 MTV Movie Award for her role in Scream 2. Her additional film credits include Cruel Intentions, Simply Irresistible, Harvard Man, Funny Farm, Over the Brooklyn Bridge and High Stakes. Gellar can also be seen in the Warner Bros. feature Scooby Doo, co-starring Freddie Prinze Jr.

Gellar won an Emmy(R) Award in 1994 for her role on the daytime drama All My Children. She also starred in the made-for-television movie An Invasion of Privacy and the mini-series A Woman named Jackie, in which she played a young Jackie Kennedy.

Her theatre credits include The Widow Claire at the Old Globe Theatre and Jake's Women, opposite Matthew Broderick, at Circle in the Square.

  • While relatively new to the world of acting when he landed a guest-starring role on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, David Boreanaz catapulted to stardom with his quiet intensity as the mysterious and tortured Angel and ultimately landed his own long-running series. Boreanaz also appeared in The Crow: Wicked Prayer, the fourth installment of the horror series, also starring Dennis Hopper, Edward Furlong, Tara Reid and Macy Gray.

A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Boreanaz was exposed to television at a young age -- his father is a veteran weather forecaster for WPVI in Philadelphia. After graduating from Ithaca College, he moved to Los Angeles to try his luck in Hollywood.

While studying the craft of acting, Boreanaz lived the life of a starving actor, making ends meet by parking cars, painting houses and handing out towels at a sports club. Yet, it was while walking his dog in a Hollywood neighborhood that a manager spotted his brooding, intense look and instantly signed him as a client. His first big break was a guest spot on Married... With Children playing Kelly Bundy's (Christina Applegate) biker boyfriend.

In 2002 Boreanaz starred in the romantic comedy I'm with Lucy, with Monica Potter, Henry Thomas and Anthony LaPaglia. He also starred in the Warner Bros. thriller Valentine.

On stage, Boreanaz has performed at the Ensemble Theatre in Hat Full of Rain, at the Gardner Stage in Italian-American Reconciliation and Fool for Love, and on theatre row in Cowboy Mouth. His feature film credits include Aspen Extreme, Best of the Best 2 and Eyes of the World.

  • Nicholas Brendon turned to acting when his aspirations of playing professional baseball were squelched by a serious arm injury. He first appeared on television in a handful of commercials and guest-starring roles including Married With Children and Dave's World. Feeling slightly disenchanted with Hollywood, he took a personal hiatus to play the "real life" roles of medical student, production assistant, plumber's assistant, veterinary janitor, food delivery guy, script delivery guy, day care counsellor and waiter at approximately 13 different establishments.

During his seventh year in the food and beverage industry, Brendon decided to give acting another try. Soon after, he landed the role of Xander in the hit series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and hung up his apron for good.

Brendon's feature film credits include Psycho Beach Party and the horror film Pinata, in which he co-stars with his wife, Tressa Di Figlia.

Brendon has also starred in the Los Angeles theatre productions of The Further Adventures of Tom Sawyer at Theatre West, My Own Private Hollywood at the Black Hole Theatre and Out of Gas on Lover's Leap at the Pasadena Playhouse.

Off-screen, the Los Angeles native enjoys attending Dodger games, camping and spending quality time with friends and family. He also enjoys daydreaming of world travel, writing poetry, philanthropy and watching television programs on the A&E Network.

  • Alyson Hannigan is best known to television audiences as Willow on the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, for which she won a Teen Choice Award and a Saturn Award.

Her other television credits include Touched by an Angel, Picket Fences and Roseanne. She had a recurring role on the series Almost Home and was a series regular on Free Spirit.

Her feature film credits include American Pie, American Pie 2, for which she won a Teen Choice Award, American Wedding, Date Movie, Beyond the City Limits, Dead Man on Campus and My Stepmother Is an Alien.

Hannigan was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Atlanta.

  • Anthony Stewart Head has enjoyed a successful acting career in his native England for many years, but before his role as Rupert "Ripper" Giles on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, it was a popular series of coffee commercials that brought him his greatest recognition in the United States. Head starred as the intriguing romantic lead in a dozen Taster's Choice commercials.

He was a regular cast member on the sci-fi television series VR.5. He also guest starred on the series Highlander and NYPD Blue. Additional credits include the cable movie Royce with Jim Belushi and the feature films A Prayer for the Dying, Devil's Hill and Lady Chatterley's Lover.

Head also starred in the original cable movie Best Actress, as well as the original television movie Silent Witness.

Head has appeared in many British productions, most recently in Manchild, described as a British version of Sex and the City, albeit from the male perspective, and in the critically acclaimed Spooks, with Matthew MacFadyen, Peter Firth and Jenny Agutter, about the British spy organization, MI5.

Born in Camden Town, England, Head grew up in a "show business family." His mother is an actress and is best known for her role as Madame Maigret in the British television series Maigret. His father was a documentary producer who created the British production company known as Verity Films. Head attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts and got his first show business break playing Jesus in Godspell. He went on to star in a number of West End theater productions, including The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Julius Caesar, The Heiress, Chess, Rope and Peter Shaffer's Yonadab at the Royal National Theater.

  • Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Charisma Carpenter moved with her family to Mexico when she was 15. She had studied classical ballet since the age of five. She pursued dancing as part of her high school curriculum by commuting between Mexico and San Diego, California, to take classes at the School of the Creative and Performing Arts.

Carpenter did not initially intend to pursue a career in acting, but fate intervened when she was discovered by a commercial agent while waitressing in Los Angeles to save for her college education. She went on to appear in more than 20 commercials, including one for Secret antiperspirant which ran for two years.

Her first break in television came with a guest appearance on the popular series Baywatch. Shortly thereafter she landed an audition for Aaron Spelling, who cast her as a regular in the series Malibu Shores.

Carpenter first came to fame as Cordelia Chase on Buffy, the Vampire Slayer. The popular character was then moved to the Buffy spinoff Angel.

In 2004, after giving birth to her first child, Carpenter posed nude for Playboy.

A fitness enthusiast, Carpenter's outdoor interests include rollerblading, rock climbing, hiking, and sky diving.

  • Buffy was surely one of the

Buffy was surely one of the best series I've ever seen. Though I have seen only four season as the country where I live got only up to that season where they fight the Major. After that nothing. I wish to know if syfy is going to be playing till the very end which would be season 8 or is it just till season 4 and its over? I don't have any of the dvd's as they don't sell them here nor can I watch it online, due to not having patience to wait it to buffer. So. Is this from start to finish or is it, like I said, up to season 4 and than its the end?

  • Buffy the vampire slayer is the best show by far, Sarah Michelle Gellar and the other actors and actresses that were in the show were very talented and Joss was amazing at creating clff hanging storylines. I definatly loved when Angel turned into Angelus as he wanted revenge on Buffy who made him feel like a man. Eliza Dushku is my fav actress and now that shes in DollHouse i can continue to watch my fav actress and stroylines that Joss has made. Buffy The Vampire Slayer is the best show and i wish they would bring it back. x

  • hey buffy fan i hope you have a very happy new year buffy forever

  • Note to all the people who said buffy sucks. I am not a pre-teen semi knowledgable buffy fan. i have watched the show religiously since it came out since and its completion have continue to watch it on DVD whenever i get the chance..which is very often. im not here to proclaim that i am the biggest Buffy fan- because i know there are countless avid fans out there and theres no need to compete and say 'im the biggest fan!' because its completely irrelevent. im here to say to all those Twilight infested, pre-pubescent ignorant bandwagon jumpers that posted here saying that Buffy sucks. you couldnt even back it up with an argument. saying 'its boring, its sucks' isnt really a respectable opinion. Buffy was on time 100 greatest shows OF ALL TIME. if you dont personally like buffy, thats one thing. but to condemn a show that is the product of a brilliant mind only works to highlight your stupidity. as a series, it delves into characters unlike any of the new wave of vampire shows that has spawned to capitlise on the idiocy of people like you who will buy anything with a 'hottie' with fangs on it. there is harldy any artistic merit to this new wave of vampiric bullshit. Buffy challenged and shocked audiences for 7 years. twiglight is a self masturbatory FAD.yes, twiglight is entertaining, and it is obviously a very successful franchise, but to compare it to Buffy is utter sacrilige. Buffy has layers that your tiny, Robert Pattison obsessed minds couldnt even begin to understand. its seemless blend of humour, and real life drama were often at the forefreont of what made this show great. the supernatural element was sideline to its witty dialogue and complex character development. in short? shut the fuck up unless you know what your talking about.

  • twilight may be good yer but the vampire mythology is terrible they can go out in sunlight and stuff i mean that is just stupid buffy on the other hand is one of the greatest programmes of all time and how can you say the cast is boring xander harris is soooo funny willow is cute and funny buffy is just buffy and giles is the man plus twilight is a few films that one was good and the rest may be buffy is books comics and shows and with such episodes as prophecy girl great bewitcheb bothered and bewildered amazing innocence and becoming 1 and 2 hush i think you know thats jsut a few but its great twilight can suck balls to be honest in compare its like twilight is like turd wereas buffy is t.v gold you douche

  • I think they've only paid for the rights for seasons 1-3.

  • Hi,:) i just wanted 2 say that i am your biggest fan of buffy. I know every series off by heart n i have even got my friends in2 it n i also think you should make a new, series 8, I would totally watch it. I LOVE BUFFY!!! If you do make a new series you should bring spike back like you did in angel. coz me n my friends love him.:)I have anything 2 do with Buffy. N i would love 2 watch more. I don't move from the t.v. when buffy's on. I realllllllllllyyy love the musical n i know all the words 2 all the songs, but i just love buffy. I also love to watch angel, which i also love.

  • i am a big buffy fan and watched first time round and i enjoy watching the re runs. but i do agree that there should be more buffy episodes made. it is the type of show that is timeless because there is always a new slayer when one bites the dust (pardon the pun.) a bit like doctor who that i also love.

  • Does nayone no why sarah geller quit buffy because i dont no and sum people say it was because of scooby doo that she wanted to do new stuff so if it was because of scooby doo i hate it now. i love buffy i remember when i was little i watche =the last ever buffy episode i thought theyd make more but they never did its soooo sad i miss it so much. i dont want to watch the last episode because i no there will never be anymore and i cant believe angel leaves i thought they were ment to last forever i dont like spike because he is forcing her into a relationship.

  • make more buffy and angel

  • can anyone tell me why sci-fi is starting buffy from the beginning again we get to the end of season 3 and they start from season 1 why not carry on with season 4

  • good but make the test more about buffy than john whedon cos its not to good a test but this web site is great

  • Buffy=awesomeness! Sarah michelle gellar didn't quit buffy, the show came to an end! Joss whedon planned on ending it at season 5 when buffy died but ended up making 2 more seasons! He said he won't be making anymore, as a proper fan would know as buffy has been continued in comic form which is season 8 and in season 7 many potential slayers were called, which continues in the season 8 comics with there being dozens of slayers!

  • I discovered Buffy when I was in my late 40's. I fell in love with Spike and never looked back! I happily watch every episode on sci-fi even tho I have the box set! The writing is spot-on and it tackles real-life problems. The acting is convincing and it never treats itself too seriously - unlike Angel (which I still watch because of Spike!). Well done Sci-fi for bringing Buffy - and Spike - back to us! Oh, did I mention I like Spike?

  • I love buffy and angels series and im only 11 but who cares im really hoping im getting the angel series for christmas. But anyway I wish there would be more episodes of buffy and angel i dont really wNT TO Watch th film and i watched a video about buffy and they said they were going to make a new movie of buffy anyway BUFFY AND ANGEL ROCK!!!

  • twilight is soooooooooooooooooooo much better then buffy buffy is shit and the cast are soooooo borring and you soooo called fan get a life

  • You're obviously some little teenage twat who's jumped on the Twilight/vampire We love Robert Pattinson, he's so fit band-wagon! Buffy came way before the twilight books were ever written n Stephenie Meyer even said she got some idea to write about vampires from watching buffy! So in your face!

  • Oh they are starting Season1 after this one is done, yet again? Buffy is one of the best shows I've ever come across but it bums me out I have seen the first 3 seasons like 10 times but the ones after that just once.

  • Does anyone know where you can download episodes of Buffy from?

  • iam such a huge buffy fan love the show such fabtasttic acting from all the cast it;s sooooooooooo great that buffy is on scifi iam sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy

  • i love buffy but does anyone else think faith is better than buffy? Eliza who plays faith and most recently echo in sci fi's dollhouse does her own stunts unlike sarah michelle geller. Sarah wont even lend her voice to buffy video games.

  • i loved the tv show just the best ever for a supernatural show like this it tackled some issues i hope scfi play seeason 1 to 7 this channal is great it has all the josh wheadon creations and am also enjoying dollhouse can not wait for that to come back on

  • I just love the character and the plots behind the whole series. It was great !!!

  • Wonderful show. Sarah Michelle Gellar is perfect in the role of Buffy and every episode is a great mixture of adventure / horror / plus fun and humour. I hope that the repeat showings means a whole new generation of fans.

  • I loved the series of Buffy but hated the film. I'm just glad that Joss Whedon gave it some credibility. I was sorry to see it end but the ending was superb

  • me and my frinds are have a buffy party after the episode we soooooooooo can not wait for the new episode to start

  • I am SO happy that my baby is now getting a new channel! Buffy is my all time favourite show, and even though I have the DVD's, it'll be awesome to have it on the TV too! I am also glad that you're showing it from the start <3

  • Great to see the show back on air on yet another television channel...As many have stated it was most certainly one of the best shows on TV in years past and evolved over the years into one of the best TV series ever...Thanks to the SciFi channel for helping to brighten up another autumn and winter period with some BTVS @ 7!
