Season of the Witch

Here's an elevator pitch for you - imagine a fantasy horror film set in Medieval Europe, make it a cross between Con Air meets the Name of the Rose, and then add two of the same actors from said films, Ron Perlman and Nicolas Cage. Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society to host a 2009 thanksgiving weekend convention in honour of their 75th year. It was back in October 27, 1934 when the Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society first opened its doors to fans of a new genre, scientific fiction, aka science fiction or Sci-Fi.

Disney soars in to create a steampunk movie out of Airman

Disney is set to turn 'Airman', a fantasy steampunk tale from the pen of Artemis Fowl author Eoin Colfer, into a movie. Robert Zemeckis' ImageMovers studio is set to join forces with Disney in making the film. The book is a Victorian age Zorro/Count of Monte Cristo hybrid.

Paradox

The new BBC 1 sci-fi mini-series Paradox stars actress Tamzin Outhwaite as Inspector Rebecca Flint, who has to work with space scientist Dr Christian King - aka Emun Elliott - when a series of rogue images are transmitted from space into his laboratory. The fragmented images appear to be of a terrible incident but they also suggest it is yet to happen - it's in the future.
