Sci-fi-london film festival announces its Oktoberfest 2010 line-up

The UK’s leading annual genre festival is gearing up for its 10th year in April 2011, but cannot wait a whole year for the next festival so presents SCI-FI-LONDON: Oktoberfest – a weekend of science fiction film screenings and events. Oktoberfest takes place 14-16 October 2010 at the Apollo Piccadilly Circus and two other prestigious venues; The Royal Observatory Greenwich and The Royal Society.
Oktoberfest’s core film programme will feature some classics movies such as the original 1982 TRON and cult classic DOUGAL AND THE BLUE CAT (1972) along with a special event screening of MONSTERS (2010), with director Gareth Edwards presenting a masterclass on his approach and techniques used in the film.
Two special science-based events bring real science to the festival line-up. The first looks at the current and future state of robotics and AI, hosted by the Royal Society; the other, an evening of Astrobiology at the Royal Observatory.
