Green Lantern, X-Men: First Class and Thor all set for London Expo

The bi-annual London MCM Expo event has long been trying to give UK fans something close to the brilliance of the San Diego Comic Con, and while they often provide stellar TV panels – including the Haven and Warehouse 13 panels last October – they haven’t really capitalised on the mass market for superhero movies. Until now.

This year’s spring Expo – taking place at ExCel London on 27-29 May – will not only be sponsored by Warner Bros. The Green Lantern, but will also hit attendees with a Marvel double whammy in the form of an X-Men: First Class/Thor panel.

The X-Men: First Class panel will feature screenwriters Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz who also collaborated on the screenplay for Kenneth Brannagh’s forthcoming Thor.

Warner Bros. Will showcase the Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters videogame at the event.

With Kick-Ass creator Mark Millar launching his very own Comic Con, Kapow, in London this April the stakes have certainly been raised for UK fan events and it seems like the MCM Expo has responded in style.
