Predator producer bringing The Martian Chronicles to the screen
Steven Spielberg tried—and failed—to get a movie made out of Ray Bradbury's short story collection The Martian Chronicles back in the '90s. So it looks like it's up to John Davis, a producer responsible for bringing Predator, I, Robot and Waterworld (uh-oh) to the screen, to finally make it happen.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount has picked up the movie rights to Bradbury's collection, which had previously been made into an NBC/BBC miniseries written by Richard Matheson (I Am Legend) in 1980.
Universal's option on Chronicles reverted earlier this year, and now that Paramount has snapped it up, the studio has put Davis in charge of getting the project from page to screen. There's no writer, no director, and certainly no stars attached to the movie yet ... so before any announcements are made, now's the time to start dreaming.
Who's on YOUR wish list to write and direct The Martian Chronicles ... and get it right?

Depends who they aim the film at: David Fincher would be good although his stuff tends to be adult so no good if the producers want kids to see it, at least it should be better than the TV version, even for it`s day the effects were bloody awful!!
They should get Frank Darabont to direct.
