A Marvel fan might have (but probably hasn't) decoded Mark Ruffalo's bleeped Avengers spoiler

Presented by: Christian Long

While everyone's sensitive to spoilers ruining their experience, no one has had fun with it quite like the MCU has.

Of course, there've been a few Marvel topliners that have given away crucial plot points, and Mark Ruffalo, who plays the recently Hulk-impaired Bruce Banner, has become the poster boy for it. So much so that he allegedly "spoiled" both the title and the ending for the upcoming follow-up to AvengersInfinity War while doing a spot on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon over the weekend.

Even though the audio was bleeped, with the official YouTube clip blacking out Ruffalo's mouth when he "revealed" the title, one dedicated fan, Anton Volkov, broke out the audio equipment to figure out exactly what was bleeped out. Several hours later, he tweeted the results.

Granted, Volkov was quick to admit that this might not be the real title of Avengers 4, since the whole thing played out like an elaborate gag, but this does sound like Ruffalo saying "The Last Avenger."

It's worth noting that this title would make a certain amount of sense, given that Chris Evans first appeared in the MCU in the WWII-set Captain America: The First Avenger, and he publicly announced his retirement from the character last week on Twitter. Which definitely rocked the boat for some fans.

Still, others employed the art of lip-reading to try and figure out what Ruffalo was saying, which seemed to come to the consensus of "Avengers: Annihilation," per Polygon. This also could be the title, technically speaking, as it's lifted from a 2006 Marvel crossover event that featured several MCU stalwarts.

Given that this all seemed to be played for laughs, and the fact that Marvel hasn't delivered a word from on high, it's unlikely to be either one of these titles. Still, it's fun to speculate in the meantime.

Do you have any theories about what they could call the next Avengers movie? Let us know in the comments.
