Deadpool Returns In First Sequel Teaser, Complete With Stan Lee Cameo
One of the biggest surprises surrounding Logan was the inclusion of a teaser for Deadpool 2. Now, Ryan Reynolds has let it out into the wild — with a bit of extra footage, to boot.
The 3+-minute teaser was basically a post-credit scene, but since it didn't really fit the tone of Logan (just watch the movie, trust us), they included it as a pre-film surprise. It's a fun little scene where Wade stumbles upon a mugging in progress and jumps into a phone booth (Superman-style) to suit up and help. It just takes a while for him to actually get changed, and ... well, you'll see.
This is not the exact version that's running in theaters and includes a Stan Lee cameo that apparently got cut late in the game.
As for Easter eggs, there are a few if you look closely. There's some graffiti teasing "Nathan Summers cumming soon," which is a potty-ish-mouthed teaser for Cable's introduction. There's also a boatload of Firefly posters in the background, which is just … strange. It could be a nod to co-star Morena Baccarin or even a bit of commentary on fan-casting for Nathan Fillion to play Cable. Or maybe the producers are just big fans of Joss Whedon's short-lived series and thought it'd be fun. Who knows?
The teaser was reportedly directed by Deadpool 2 director David Leitch and the guy certainly seems to have a solid grasp of the irreverent tone that makes the character work so well.
