Using the stolen IMEX, Rankol (Jonathan Walker) and Lenu (Sonya Salomaa) have found a way to solve Mongo's water problem. The Sentinel alerts Zarkov (Jody Racicot) to an enormous rift forming at Lake Kendal and he, Flash (Eric Johnson), Dale (Gina Holden), Baylin (Karen Cliché) and Joe (Giles Panton) arrive to witness the lake being completely drained.  Zarkov realizes that this feat can only have been accomplished using the IMEX and that it may well be repeated.  Flash and his companions head to Mongo with the intention of blowing up the rift generator to prevent the further theft of Earth's water.
