About Human Target Season 2

Based on the popular DC Comics title and graphic novel, this full-throttle action drama centers on Christopher Chance (series star MARK VALLEY), a unique personal security expert hired to shield those in danger from threats that cannot be solved through "normal" means of protection. Making amends for his former life as a mercenary and hired assassin, Chance is focused on just one thing: saving his clients' lives, even if it means placing himself directly in the line of fire. Assisted by his business partner and trusted friend, Winston (series star CHI McBRIDE), and their ethically challenged freelance operative, Guerrero (series star JACKIE EARLE HALEY), Chance integrates himself completely into his clients' lives -- becoming a human target -- to eliminate the threat.

Season two introduces the chameleon-like Ames (series star JANET MONTGOMERY), a beautiful thief who can steal anything from anyone at any time, and billionaire philanthropist Ilsa Pucci (series star INDIRA VARMA), who tracks down the reclusive Chance and offers him and his associates the opportunity to work for her. Now armed with access to her private planes, latest technology and state-of-the-art offices, Chance will have unlimited means to protect the people he serves. Yet despite his newfound resources, Chance is still a man who doesn't like to get too close -- a tough predicament for someone whose job it is to never leave his clients' side.

Characters

  • Christopher Chance

    Mark Valley

Mark Valley stars in Human Target as Christopher Chance, a mysterious agent for hire who assumes different identities, literally becoming a human target. Valley, a versatile film and television actor, is known equally for his comedic, witty turns as he is for his dramatic, weighted performances. He is a familiar face to television viewers, having appeared last season as FBI Agent John Scott on the hit drama Fringe. He also starred on Boston Legal for three seasons as Brad Chase, and had starring roles in Keen Eddie and Pasadena, as well as recurring roles in Once and Again, ER, The 4400 and Swingtown. Valley's film credits include John Schlesinger's The Innocent, The Siege with Denzel Washington, John Frankenheimer's George Wallace, The Next Best Thing with Madonna and Rupert Everett and Shrek the Third, in which Valley voiced the character of Cyclops. Valley also wrote and performed in Walls, Wars and Whiskey, a one-man show about his experiences growing up in upstate New York and serving in the military. Valley graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, and began his acting career while serving overseas in the Army. A Gulf War veteran, he is a native of Ogdensburg, New York, and currently divides his time between Vancouver, Canada, and Los Angeles.

  • Winston

    Chi McBride

Chi McBride stars in Human Target as Winston, Chance's friend and business associate. McBride has established himself as one of the most respected actors in television and film. Most recently, he garnered critical acclaim for his starring role as Emerson Cod in the whimsical, award-winning drama Pushing Daisies. He also starred in the critically acclaimed David E. Kelley series Boston Public for four seasons. Additionally, McBride had a starring role in the police drama Killer Instinct, as well as in The Nine, The John Larroquette Show and the telefilm Muhammad Ali: King of the World. He was also a recurring guest star on House M.D. McBride can next be seen on the big screen in the upcoming comedic drama Happy Together. He recently co-starred in First Sunday with Ice Cube, Tracy Morgan and Katt Williams, as well as The Brothers Solomon directed by Bob Odenkirk and starring Will Arnett and Will Forte. Prior to that, McBride collaborated with Odenkirk and Arnett on the feature Let's Go to Prison. McBride made his feature film debut in The Distinguished Gentleman, opposite Eddie Murphy. Soon after, he appeared in the Academy Award®-nominated What's Love Got to Do with It and The Great White Hype. Born and raised in Chicago, McBride currently divides his time between Vancouver, Canada, and Los Angeles.

  • Guerrero

    Jackie Earle Haley

Jackie Earle Haley stars in Human Target as Guerrero, the slim, shadowy associate of Chance's who seems to skirt both sides of the law. Haley, after disappearing from Hollywood for almost 15 years, recently resurged, earning an Academy Award® nomination in the process. This remarkable return to the limelight began in October 2004, when Academy Award® winner Steven Zaillian wanted Haley to audition for the part of Sugar Boy in his film All the King's Men. Zaillian eventually tracked Haley down in France enjoying his honeymoon. Haley sent in an audition tape and won the part. After completing the film, Haley was determined to continue working on projects that had meaning for him. After reading an early draft of Todd Field's Little Children, Haley set his sights on playing Ronald J. McGorvey, a role that earned him an Academy Award® nomination for Best Supporting Actor. This past spring, Haley starred as Rorschach in the feature film adaptation of Watchmen, based on the best-selling graphic novel. Next up, he will star opposite Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo in director Martin Scorsese's mystery-thriller Shutter Island. He will also portray iconic killer Freddy Krueger in the upcoming A Nightmare on Elm Street, a reimagining of the 1980s horror classic, scheduled for release in 2010. After coming to prominence in the 1970s as the cigarette-smoking, motorcycle-riding hellion Kelly Leak in the feature film comedy Bad News Bears and its two sequels, Haley went on to play the practical, laid-back but short-tempered Moocher in the Academy Award®-winning film Breaking Away. In 1983, he played the sex-obsessed Dave in Curtis Hanson's Losin' It opposite Tom Cruise, and, on Broadway, he performed with Sean Penn, Kevin Bacon and Val Kilmer in Slab Boys. The successful transition from child actor to adult actor was elusive, and Haley was forced to rethink his career path. He turned his attention to directing, and tried his hand at various professions, including limousine driver and security officer, in an effort to pay the bills. Haley struggled for years until finally gaining some success directing industrial videos and television commercials. Haley moved to San Antonio, Texas, where he eventually started his own company, JEH Productions, Inc., making regional commercial spots for companies. He continues to reside in the Lone Star State when not on location for a role.
