Show Guide

About The Show

Once the DEA's top agent, Jane Vasco is formidable, both mentally and physically. As a child, her father nicknamed her Painkiller Jane, describing her ability to mentally push through even the most painful situations. But her strength is about to be tested.

Jane is recruited by a covert government agency dedicated to containing and, if necessary, neutralizing the threat of "Neuros" — individuals with superhuman neurological powers. No one knows what caused the aberrations that led to their enhanced abilities, which range from from telekinesis and telepathic suggestion to induced hallucinations.

During her first investigation with her new team, Jane discovers that she too possesses an odd ability: she can't be killed. Unfortunately, she can still feel pain. Her newfound powers make Jane even more determined to learn everything there is to know about Neuros.

Seldom malicious, Neuros often can't control their powers. Consequently, they tend to leave a trail of death and destruction. To prevent a panic, the government has kept the discovery of Neuros a secret, assembling a covert unit to identify and contain Neuros.

Operating from a secure abandoned subway platform, the core members of the unit are Andre McBride (Rob Stewart), the seasoned team leader; Connor King (Noah Danby), a special agent regularly armed with a smart remark; Riley Jensen (Sean Owen Roberts), an evolved computer whiz in charge of surveillance and communications; Dr. Seth Carpenter (Stephen Lobo), the unit's doctor and scientist; Joe Waterman (Nathaniel Deveaux), the middle-aged caretaker of the subway; and Maureen Bowers (Alaina Huffman), Jane's former DEA partner and friend, who, like Jane, was recruited after discovering top-secret information about Neuros.

Painkiller Jane is based on the comic-book series of the same name created by Jimmy Palmiotti and Joe Quesada.

Take a look at what's in store in the next episode of Pain Killer Jane.

Episodes

  1. Episode 1

    Pilot

DEA agent Jane Vasco is reluctantly recruited by a covert team that goes after Neuros in order to contain them. After falling nearly 50 stories from a building and miraculously healing, Jane quickly realizes she's very different than others and has no clue why.

  2. Episode 2

    Toy Soldiers

Graves are robbed. Investigations begin to indicate that the graves have been broken out of, not into. Our team comes in. Seems a "young boy" Neuro is raising them up from the dead to play with them, like soldiers. But when threatened, he USES them as soldiers to stop anyone necessary.

  3. Episode 3

    Piece of Mind

The team encounters a mind-stealing Neuro who can steal knowledge at will and they soon discover a "Howard Hughes-like" recluse, hiding in a decaying mansion, outside the city. He's dying and knows it and has come home to where, years ago, he was much wealthier and much happier. He wants to die around beautiful things and has stolen these bits of memory in order to plan the perfect art heist; a one-man "Italian Job." He intends to rob the world, at least temporarily, of some of its most beautiful art.

  4. Episode 4

    Catch me if You Can

Jane and the team are stunned to find a Neuro who not only knows the location of their headquarters, but has left a message for them saying that they will be capturing him very soon. This Neuro has had premonitions of disasters of various kinds for some time now, to which no one has believed him. But he's really come to warn them, however, that just prior to catching and chipping him, three of the team members will die. Can the future be changed? And, if it can’t be, what's the risk to our team?

  5. Episode 5

Nothing to Fear But Fear Itself

Jane and the team investigate when a the internees at witness safe house start suffering from bizarre halucinations and anxiety attacks. Is this the work of a Neuro?

  6. Episode 6

    Breakdown

Our Neuro has no idea what havoc is being wreaked - while she dreams, suffering terrible nightmares stemming from her childhood, those dreams become manifest in the outside world when she off-loads them to others via her doctor, who will do anything to protect her.  Through their investigation and before more harm comes to anyone else, the team catches up with the doctor and realizes he’s been off-loading her nightmares to others so she wouldn't have to suffer any longer.

  7. Episode 7

    Higher Court

A man steps out onto a terrace for a breath of fresh air. It is shocking to discover that in reality he stepped off a highrise building and fell to his death. An hallucinogenic-inducing Neuro has turned vigilante, dispensing justice, single-handed, to those who have slipped through the law.

  8. Episode 8

    Friendly Fire

A Neuro who possesses the ability to take on other's physical appearances, convinces Jane that she's at a government hospital, being tested after killing a member of her team. When the neuro poses as her team members, Jane is lulled into believing that she's in good hands. But we soon learn that the "hospital" is a set-up and Jane is being coaxed into revealing the location of where the team sends neuros after capture.

  9. Episode 9

    Trial by Fire

Connor is arrested and put on trial for a murder that was, in truth, committed by a pyrokinetic Neuro. But, in a world that knows nothing about Neuros or what they're capable of – and in the teams' world where they're forced to keep the existence of Neuros a secret – how do you prove Connor's innocence when only revealing the true "mystery" behind the case can exonerate him?

  10. Episode 10

    The Portrait of Lauren Gray

Young, attractive women seem to have aged overnight. The doctors have ruled out Progeria, as well they should. What's the price of youth and beauty when a beautiful, seductive Neuro can remain forever young and vital by robbing it from others?

  11. Episode 11

    Ghost in the Machine

The team suspects that a Neuro's behind a series of brutal killings where people have been the victims of "machinery." A runaway truck. An industrial compactor. Their investigation leads them to a handicapped Neuro in a wheelchair who holds his Special Forces Squad responsible for the accident that left him crippled and who seems to have a "knack" with mechanical devices.
