TV is full of extraordinary women, but few are as amazing as Dr Helen Magnus. She was born in 1850 and is still going strong – which can only be a good thing, because that means she’s available to take centre stage in season 3 of Sanctuary, the Canadian series that started life on the web, but has since become an international phenomena.

 
Dr Magnus is a teratologist - somebody who studies abnormal physiological development – and heads a team of experts who run the Sanctuary, an organisation searching for super-powered creatures and people known as Abnormals. But not all ofthem are benevolent – a few tend to be very dangerous indeed, and that’s where the fun comes in for us viewers…
 
Season 2 saw Dr Magnus dealing with the loss of her son Ashley, and the appearance of Edward Forsythe, who was determined to take control of a marine Abnormal known as Bertha. Season 3 will explain why.

what the hell happened to tonights episode? tivo set on series link!! got an hour of 12 monkeys instead!
