Huffman entered the Gately/Poole Acting Intensive hosted at Northern Illinois University to study with master Meisner technique teacher Kathryn Gately. Excelling quickly, he moved to New York at age 17 to start pursuing his dreams.

  • Ryan Nichols

    Morris Chestnut

Morris Chestnut stars in V as Ryan Nichols, who knows from firsthand experience just what the V's are capable of.

A captivating and charismatic performer, Chestnut first claimed attention as Ricky in the critically acclaimed Boyz in the Hood, in which he portrayed a high school football player using his running back skills to try and escape his rough South Central Los Angeles neighborhood. This standout role was followed by the challenging lead in The Ernest Green Story, playing one of the Arkansas Nine high school students in this television drama about civil rights.

These pivotal roles led Chestnut to appearances in such feature films as Under Siege 2: Dark Territory, G. I. Jane and Half Past Dead. He went on to star in numerous romantic comedies, including The Brothers, Two Can Play That Game, Breakin' All the Rules and The Best Man, for which he received an NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture. He was also seen in Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid and the highly regarded Ladder 49 for director Jay Russell.

A Los Angeles native, Chestnut spent time in the banking industry following high school, including stints as a teller. It was during junior college in Long Beach, California, that he saw a friend in a play, which sparked his interest in the performing arts. The following semester, Chestnut took courses in acting and began to earnestly pursue the profession.

Chestnut studied at the Marla Gibbs Acting School in Hollywood, landed an agent and began auditioning for such television shows as A Different World and Freddie's Nightmares, as well as for independent films. Following his seminal role in Boyz in the Hood, Chestnut landed a role in the comedy series Out All Night, starring Patti LaBelle, and appeared in commercials for such high-profile companies as McDonalds and Champs Sporting Goods.

  • Lisa

    Laura Vandervoort

As Supergirl, Vandervoort could show off both her incredible acting and martial arts skills. She can also be seen in Into the Blue 2: The Reef, the sequel to the successful feature Into the Blue. Vandervoort can next be seen in the upcoming features This Means War, alongside Reese Witherspoon and Chris Pine, and The Entitled, with Ray Liotta and Kevin Zegers.

In 2006, Vandervoort shot her first feature film, The Lookout, opposite Jeff Daniels, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Mathew Goode and Isla Fisher. She got her big break at age 19 when she landed the lead role of Sadie Harrison on the CTV series Instant Star, which ran for four seasons and was extremely popular in Canada. Vandervoort has also appeared in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, The Dresden Files, Mom's Got a Date with a Vampire, Alley Cats Strike, Mutant X, Prom Queen and Twice in a Lifetime.

Originally from Toronto, Canada, Vandervoort began acting at the age of 13. Vandervoort loves most sports, especially soccer, karate, basketball, tennis, gymnastics and baseball. Beginning karate at age 7, she was a second-degree black belt by age 16. She currently divides her time between Los Angeles and her native Canada. Her birthday is September 22.

  • Can't believe there will be no season 3 of V. Best si fi series I have watched in a long time-surely they can't leave things as they are? The next season has the potential to really rock-visitors invasion fleet about to arrive, 5th column joining forces with underground military organisation (whose name I forget now)-I mean they can't be serious can they???? Surely something can be done?

  • I was gutted to find out V was cancelled, though partly I agree with the statement on another blog post (10 TV shows that shouldn't have been cancelled) that says its cancellation improves an already good show. The idea that Anna wins after discovering that Amy can bliss and having Jack stuck outside gives it a spooky ending. But I would have loved just one more series to explore Kyle's relationship with this Sarah person and to delve deeper into Project Aries. I'm glad that Kyle and Erica got together before the end because you could see the chemistry, but Jack and Erica have had undeniable chemistry since series 1. I would have loved to have seen something happen there.

Still, I can't wait to watch S2 all over again this weekend!

  • I have only just learnt after reading other comments on here that V has been cancelled. I can hardly believe this, V is one of the best shows on TV and so much better than the original series in 80s. Please don't let this happen, especially as session 2 left us with such a superb cliffhanger. Season 1 was great, season 2 fantastic, season 3 will surely be phenomenal!

  • ...................Good god i missed the last 2 of season 2................... the video ran out.. just at the start of the very last 1...... dam dam dam.. are the running it again at some point????

  • It says above that the whole season 2 is being shown again on the 11th and 12th June

  • love the show have no idea why this fab show has been axed. what happens next the show has just been left with this massive cliffhanger.this is a show i cant wait for it to come out and buy .....
this show is or sorry was the best thing on tv getting sick of watchin this so called reality show
    not fair ............

  • There is a facebook campaign. Check out

    http://www.facebook.com/ProjectAliceV

  • How can V fans be left with such cliffhangers - we have waited 20 years for a remake and it was thrilling brilliantly acted and had my family glued to the t.v. every Thursday evening.
PLEASE at least finish the story don't leave us all living in suspense of what happened!

  • I can not believe v has been axed someone needs to do facebook campaigne maybe the powers will then take note! Power to the viewers

  • I can not believe v has been axed someone needs to do facebook campaigne maybe the powers will then take note! Power to the viewers

  • Reading below it seems a lot of the alleged (and i use that term strongly) low viewing figures for season 2 claimed by ABC are explained by their suicidal decision to restrict channels like Syfy from showing online catch-ups etc.

My brother missed the first 2 episodes of S2 whilst on holiday, and because he LOVED the show so much he didnt want to dip back in 3 shows in, he wanted to wait for a complete re-run (which im glad to see Syfy are doing 11th and 12th June).

It seems the show fell victim to its own success in that so passionate are its fans that they only will watch 100% of the series.

Many shows fade out (heroes etc) as they run out of ideas, but V is a completely different kettle of fish as it has a definite goal to reach and has been set up perfectly with a barnstorming end of season 2.

Money is tight in a recession but I sincerely believe Syfy could strike Gold if they can somehow join forces or self fund series 3 and have full, unrestricted access to promote the episodes how they see fit.

ABC's loss will almost certainly be another networks MASSIVE gain.

I just hope it's Syfy's as they at least seemed to treat V with respect and gave it the promotion it deserved.

I may be wrong but I have read in the US alone V was getting viewing figures in the 4 or 5 millions and here in the UK it was Syfy's biggest ranking show 2 seasons running so that many people can't be dismissed as so low as to be insignificant' surely?????

  • There must be something another channel can do? Still in shock about the news... Was really lookingforward to an amazing battle between anna and earth. What was the point in making the series all that money, all that hype? if your not going to finish it?
Never watched the syfy channel until V. I Dont think I will now sorry and thats a view of alot of friends and family. Darran

  • Dear Syfy,

V is a must-see show in our household and we would really like to see what would happen in Season three - or a movie. Please save the show as it is a modern cult classic.

How can a show with the best line from mother to daughter in Sci-fi history be cancelled?

Anna - "Now that's how to kill your mother." (said over granny's corpse) )

The cliffhanger finale was epic - and sets up a brilliant third season. Please work to make sure the fans get one"

    SAVE V!!!!

  • Can't believe Season 3 is cancelled. What a cliffhanger to leave Season 2 on!!!! Is there anyway Syfy you can carry on with this excellent series????

  • OMG OMG cancell ???????????? iam i reading this trash right so sick of shows like this not ending i wonder what iam paying my tv licence every dam time i get in to a show thay cant even end it right bbc did it with a show called survivors and now ABC with V o god comeon this is a joke it went so well running in the uk someone needs to take it on and end it right i dont think everyshow is about view count it should be about the supporters what is the world of tv comeing to not even ending shows right u get us all happy on a buzz and then u put us all down on one well thanks ABC = A Bag Of Crap

  • Victory is what it stood for in the old shows and I sincerely hope that a victory is won by the fans. V was the only reason I tuned to the station in the first place and until it returns, I will not be tuning in again! ABC = Absolute Bloody Cr**

  • I have just logged on to SyFy for the 1st time to try and find out when V season 3 is likely to be shown after just being totally blown away after the Season 2 finale and I couldn't believe my eyes to see it's been canned!!!??????

What the F??? I can't believe what I've just read!? I'm still in shock!!! So what if the US ratings are down!?There is the rest of the world out there and if anyone from ABC is reading this I suggest you start listening to fans of your shows outside of the US for a change otherwise you're going to find no one will be bothering to watch anything you make in the future for fear of it getting shelved!

    ABC: You suck!!!!

  • Having just watched the fantastic last 2 in the series I came straight onto the syfy site to see what the next series had to bring, I cannot believe my eyes! Why is their not another one being made, we have just had a fantastic cliff hanger of an ending and your not going to finish it? Loads of people in the Uk love the original and the new series,Please please please someone do something? Help us to finish off the Vs.

  • You cannot cancell V, someone needs to be shot, please please sort it out....Please

  • how dare they cancel v..they can't just leave it hanging in mid story...anna is such a fab charecter she deserves to be killed off at some point

  • I cant believe the show has been canceld...is there nothing that syfy can do it a wicked show high light of mine and many friends week...gutted !!!

  • Gutted that ABC have cancelled V. Can't wait to see the series finale tomorrow night, but really really disappointed that it's been cancelled. This is one of the best shows out there and it is far superior to the first series back in the day (even though that was good at the time!). Please SyFy is there nothing you can do to bring it back to our screens for a third series???

  • ABC in the US, cancelled V, so no season 3. :(

  • where can i watch this episode i did set sky plus to record the series but this episode failed please help
    desperate v fan

  • I loved watching V in the 80's as a kid and really surprised that they made this new series better, quite a rarity with updates. However this isn't a update as such due to the genius stroke of bringing back 'Diana'!, however how and are they going to explain how she is back since the earth has only just acknowledged the visitors for the first time in this new series!!!
Although the writers have hinted that we have been visited by the V's before but secretly due to high phosphurus counts within some human's yet given the war from the original series the humans this time round will not have forgot that, so how are they going to explain Diana's comeback and knowledge on humans?
Could they be going up the parallel universe thing or have I missed a bit of the story to explain this?
Absolutley loving the show and especially Lisa, if aliens look that good on the outside then beam me up Lizzy!!!

  • Just went to sidereal.com over the weekend and watched the rest of se2 and boy were you right dan it is brilliant. I like you hope that they will make a se3, it is better than the 80's show and much more interesting. Although i will always like the origional i am loving the revamp or should i say the continuation. Only problem i have now is that i have tried to go back into the site again and for some reason it is not coming up, I just want to keep watching it over and over again.

  • Really miffed you cant watch this online, my sky + didn't record ep 4 and i have 3 and 5 so cant get this show online here, get with the program and times syfy

  • Wondering why you can't watch Season 2 Ep 4 on catch up :-/

  • Hi ,
Does any one know if there are bring out toys
.like they did with the 80's v series

  • Hi Everyone,

Just in case anyone has missed our previous messages, we would like to explain that due to legal restrictions the only episode of V Season 2 we have been able to show online is Episode 1. We would love to be able to bring you the entire season, but that is not possible at this time.

Also because of legal restrictions we were only allowed to keep the first episode online for 7 days so if you searched for the episode more than 1 week after the premiere unfortunately you would not have been able to find it.

Also it's worth pointing out that it is not necessary for any user to sign-up to our site to watch videos. All our video content is available to any user in the UK.

We will certainly be working to bring you more opportunities to watch our content online in the near future.

    Kind regards

    The Syfy Team
