Characters
Todd Smith
Alex House
When our series opens, Todd’s days at Crowley High involve failing school, getting stoned with his best bud Curtis, fantasizing about being a Heavy Metal guitar god, and working up the nerve to ask out Jenny, the girl of his dreams. But when he unleashes The Book of Pure Evil, Todd becomes a reluctant hero and fighter of all that is evil. He may not be the sharpest or most motivated knife in the drawer – but when it comes to kicking evil’s ass he’s pretty awesome. Problem is, the more Todd learns about The Book’s power the more he discovers he’s somehow connected to it. And that’s freaking him out.
Jenny Kolinsky
Maggie Castle
Jenny is serious, no-nonsense and determined to get to the bottom of this whole Book thing. For Jenny, it’s personal. Her journalist dad mysteriously disappeared researching The Book and she’s determined to find him. That being said, she’s torn between fighting evil and simply being a teenage girl. Which is why she occasionally does non-Book things like act in the high school musical, date the basketball star, and become a temporary lesbian.
Curtis Weaver
Bill Turnbull
Todd’s best friend. Curtis thinks the world of Todd – so much in fact that his favourite dreams involve him and Todd as Vikings on flying motorcycles. Even though Curtis is a frustrated virgin and has only one arm he’s managed to maintain his happy-go-lucky demeanor. (It helps that the dude smokes copious amounts of dope). Now that The Book has been unleashed onto the school, he’s overjoyed to belong to a team and spend quality time with some girls.
Hannah B. Williams
Melanie Leishman
Awkward and shy, Hannah is not only a master chess champion but also the school’s resident science whiz. Her parents were ground-breaking scientists and she’s determined to follow in their footsteps. She’s got the major hots for Todd and can’t seem to understand why he’s so into bitchy Jenny. Hannah is welcomed into the gang because of her crazy inventions and quick thinking solutions that come in mighty handy when fighting evil.
Atticus Murphy Jr.
Chris Leavins
Atticus is the school’s mysterious and stunningly subpar guidance counsellor. He’s also a Satanist who is ordered by his leaders to find The Book. He befriends Todd and the others, surreptitiously inserting himself into their Gang. Much to his surprise, he discovers that he likes being in a Gang, and is torn between his allegiance to them and the Satanists, neither of which treat him with the respect he desires.
Jimmy the Janitor
Jason Mewes
Jimmy is the foul-mouthed, sex obsessed custodian who seems unfazed by all the blood, gore and evil. For him, it’s just another mess to clean up. When Todd needs personal advice (and Todd always needs advice) he goes to Jimmy. Sometimes Jimmy’s advice is helpful. Other times it’s downright confusing. But Todd will always take it and run with it.
