Riese is devastated by the depth of betrayal that she has endured and now must fight not only for her life, but for the sake of the Kingdom. Empress Amara discovers that she has been nothing more than a pawn to The Sect who have allowed her to become so engrossed in her quest to find Riese that she has not noticed that the biggest threat came from within her own palace.
Discovering that The Sect may have plans for her rule that are different to her own, Empress Amara is questioning their true agenda and it is revealed that Riese might not be the sole survivor of her dynasty. Riese, meanwhile has been captured in Vidar and is also learning of a deep betrayal.
While escaping from her pursuers, Riese ducks into a building and is confronted with the man who as ultimately responsible for the fate of the Hlemkin children. Riese questions him about his motivations and discovers that The Sect has been utilising religion as a means to control its followers.
What Riese discovers the horrifying fate of the children of Helmkin and is once again in peril, but this time the threat is not Herrick. Empress Amara is pleased with The Sects latest triumph over rebels in the kingdom, but it becomes clear that nobody within The Sect can be trusted.
Empress Amara is growing tired of Herrick’s inability to capture Riese and threatens to remove him from the task. Riese, meanwhile, is hiding in the township of Vidar which, according to the stolen ledger, is a main destination for the babies harvested in Helmkin.
Riese’s presence has been a great disturbance to the town, but her hunter, Herrick, knows that this means he is closer to ever to catching his prey. Riese is reunited with a woman that she met in the hospital whose baby was taken and in exchange for helping her get out of Helmkin safely, Riese gives the woman the information she’ll need to help find her child.
On the other side of The Kingdom of Elysia, the evil Empress Amara learns of Riese’s continued survival and increases the resources for her capture. Still in Helmkin, Riese finds herself in a disturbing warehouse with row after row of boxed infants. Riese discovers a ledger and realises that it is the only hope to reuniting these children with their parents.
Riese was correct in assuming that the doctor may have seen her royal markings and The Sect are now hot on her trail. Riese seeks out Hannah, a woman who gave birth while Riese was hospitalised. Receiving answers to some questions about Helmkin only raises more.
Riese awakens from her medical treatment; more prisoner than patient. Realising that the doctor could have seen her royal mark, Riese must flee the hospital as quickly as possible but catches a glimpse of a very unusual nursery. As she is leaving the city gates, Riese spies something else out o the ordinary and begins to believe Helmkin might be hiding a dark secret. Catch the next episode on Tuesday!
